Redeeming Love is a fictional adaptation of the Book of Hosea. The book tells the story of a girl named Angel and her relationship with the aptly named, Michael Hosea. Angel's life has been riddled with grief and abuse. She knows what it is to be adored but not what it is to be loved. That is until she meets a Young Christian Farmer named Michael Hosea. The story begins with a chilling insight into Angel's childhood. The undoing of the fear that darkness has built is the journey we walk through this book. The different characters that are introduced help Angel discover more about herself and more of what it means to be loved properly. Not all those lessons are learnt the easy way. This turbulent love story set on the west coast of 1850s America is an emotionally stirring novel that will change your expectations of relationships.
TRUTH WITH A T
This novel touches on some very sensitive areas such as child abuse, prostitution & trafficking, so be prepared to deal with those themes. There were a few moments where I had to put it down just to cry. There were also a few moments where I had to put it down just to cringe. Regardless, the story is captivating.
Truth be told: You aren't going to believe half of the decisions the characters make. I regularly caught myself saying "What?!"... out loud.
